Should a woman be able to hit a man?

We all know that hitting women is wrong. Not only because you could go to jail, but because they are often the weaker one in the relationship. Using force to get your way is abusive and should not be tolerated.

In the early 1900's to about the 70's it was pretty common that women got smacked around and something needed to be done to protect these women. If a woman said you hit her you were going to jail, marks or no marks. Over the years, however, women have started to use this as a form of revenge and even as knowledge that they can let out their anger in a physical manner with no ramifications what so ever. It is gotten to a point where it has been joked about many times. Here is a skit from Bill Burr about an ex girlfriend. The part I am referring to starts at 2m 30s into the skit. (It's all funny though if you havent seen this guy)

When you give anyone this much power they are bound to abuse it. There are hundreds of men in jail for abusing their girlfriends and I wonder how many were falsely accused or simply trying to get away. Like most abusive relationships it is just as hard for men to leave. You hope things will change and that you wont be threatened or attacked any longer.

Here is the break down of what goes on in a relationship when this starts to happen.
  1. Men realize there is no winning the ridiculous argument they are approached with.
  2. They respond by saying as little as possible to try and keep the situation from getting worse.
    • If you agree with them, they are going to keep coming at you, justified by your admission of what ever you admitted to or agreed with, and it will get worse and used against you in the future.
    • If you try and argue with reason, and try to make them understand your point of view, you are not validating their feelings and it will get worse.
  3. Woman does not feel listened to.
  4. She gets angrier.
  5. You get annoyed and tell her what you really think. Whether that be psychosis, bitchy, or wrong (which is the worst one)
  6. Knowing she has no ramifications for her actions, she hits you, threatens you, or destroys something of yours.
Now you have a couple options.
  1. You could call the police, but realistically, if threatened with jail, they are going to say you hit them. By law, the police have to arrest you, and it is doubtful that she will also be arrested.
  2. You could leave. This is the best option in this situation. It really does only get worse, I know from experience. If you have children or are married then this is a lot more difficult. Also there is the risk that your shit will be destroyed if you do not have the ability to move everything out immediately. You also lose a place to live. Money can be a factor in these situations, especially in this economy.
  3. You stay and hope she becomes normal again. This will never happen. Unless, like some of my cases, she is off her meds and needs to go back on them, then this option is stupid, and even still sometimes when and if they do go back on their meds. Unfortunately this is the option most men take and I believe that it is a good percentage of people in jail.

Most women know this and even if you do hit them back, a lot of the times it is worth it to them to see you go to jail to take a slap.

I am not sure how to fix this situation, I am just trying to get some feedback and there does not seem to be much information about this out there.

Askmen has some but it is very commercialized now it seems.

There is a lot more I can add to this. And more will come later.
